Duchess's Kittens

PFA has a brand new little cat family in foster care tonight.

Duchess is a tame mama cat who has been living as a stray for months in the Eastview area. She is thin, scarred and missing fur but still managed to give birth to a litter of 6 healthy babies despite the challenges of surviving outside.

Now she and her babies are secure and cozy with their foster family. The kittens are just 10 days old! We look forward to regular updates from foster mom Jackie as these little ones progress.

Hi Folks, I think it's so wonderful you took on this little family and are providing them with such loving care and concern - what a relief to know they have happy lives to look forward to. But it bears a mention that someone else cared for and protected this precious family before they came to PFA. For 10 days my sister, Debbie, did her best to be a very caring friend to Mama cat and her babies, supplying constant food and water and gentle affection. Their well being really mattered to her and she was pretty sad she could not keep at least one of them. I know she was very fond of the Mama cat in particular. I think Deb is one of the reasons "Duchess" is lovey dovey now, because she was quite afraid of people when Deb first found her(giving birth in her backyard!) I'm so proud of my sister for doing right by these kitties, caring for them like she did, and finding a great group like yours who could find them happy, healthy homes.
