3 Legged Male Cat seeking 2 Legged Human

Hello, my name is Tripod. I am 2 years old and I am searching for my perfect forever home. I like to talk, sleep and cuddle. My hobbies include bird watching and eating soft food. My favorite food is canned Friskies. My favorite color is black, just like the stripes on my back. I am well groomed, and keep my fur soft and clean.

Recently I had an accident that required my hind leg having to be removed. At first I was sad but now I can run, jump and play just like any 4 legged cat. I also don't mind the company of other felines. ( Just remember I am cuter then them)

If interested in meeting me, please contact one of the nice people at People For Animals like Deanne at dguest05@gmail.com

Thank you and I look foward in meeting you.

Rupert the Rescue Cat

This lovely grey boy is Rupert, a friendly and affectionate male cat recently rescued near one of our feral colonies in North Central.

Rupert has been neutered and he was going to be released back to the street due to lack of foster space, however, we decided at the last minute that this sweet teddy-bear of a cat does not belong on the street and we just couldn't let him go back to a neighbourhood already over-run with strays and where we have found cats with FIV or FLV in the past.

If you are in the market for a velvety-soft snuggle bug of a cat that loves to be held and purrs his appreciation, then Rupert is the perfect cat for you. He will be listed for adoption shortly.

Marcus

This handsome fellow is Marcus. He was recently rescued after being seen at one of PFA's feral feeding stations. This poor boy is underweight, has ear mites and was still intact.

He is currently boarding at Vic Vet after his neuter and first set of vaccines. He is a calm and friendly guy who purrs with a head rub. He has neat darker orange tabby stripes on his body and tail and beautiful golden eyes.

He is looking for a foster home or better yet a forever home. If interested in adopting contact Deanna at dguest05@gmail.com or to foster contact Michelle at c_shell79@hotmail.com

Adoption fee is $50.00 (which goes straight back into our vet funds to help more cats like Marcus!)

Feral cat says thanks

A couple in North Central Regina discovered the need to help house and feed feral & stray cats in their neighbourhood. They have taken in countless cats and paid for their steralizations and helped find them homes. They continue to do so, now with the help of PFA. They also maintain a feral cat colony out of their garage and helped many forgotten cats survive.

This cat is Old Grey. He is a feral cat that has lived in Jenn and Scott's feral colony for about 2 years. Up until the other day has never been touched or held by his caregivers. With lots of love and patience Old Grey finally decided to give his thanks by allowing a cuddle.

Way to go Jenn & Scott! Your efforts have paid off. On behalf of the others you care for....
Thank You!

A Cat's Prayer

A Cat's Prayer

I ask for the privilege of not being born ...
not to be born until you can assure me of
a home and a master to protect me, and
the right to live as long as I am physically
able to enjoy life ... not to be born
until my body is precious and men have
ceased to exploit it because it is cheap
and plentiful.

More Rescued Kittens!

Another day, another batch of kittens - or at least it seems that way lately. Wet weather or not, the feline fertility rates are thriving out there and there are more kittens than ever.

Our latest rescue efforts nabbed us mama Bea (all grey) and her babies that are 6-7 weeks old and will be posted for adoption shortly.

Johnny-cat: An Exception for Safety's Sake

This adorable litte guy is Johnny, a 4 month old kitten rescued from a harrowing experience last night.

Late in the evening Pat, PFA President and Head of Pet Rescue, got a call from a concerned woman who had witnessed a tiny kitten being cruelly tormented near one of our feeding stations.

The poor stray kitten was likely trying to make his way to familiar territory, but he had the bad luck to encounter a nasty man who was continually soaking him with a hose when he tried to get into the yard, leaving him shivering with cold and terror.

The woman grabbed the kitten and kept him warm and gave him some food until a PFA volunteer could pick him up and get him to the safety of an emergency foster home.

Even though we are well over capacity already, we could not fathom leaving a young kitten in a situation involving deliberate cruelty.

Little Johnny is a lovely silver tabby with white paws, very friendly and playful and he definitely prefers kisses and cuddles to cold-water soakings! He will be listed for adoption shortly.
Our foster home situation continues to be desperate, so if you know of anyone willing to take in a cat or kitten in need, even short term, please contact us at saskpeopleforanimals@gmail.com

Beautiful Benny from Balgonie

Everyone who knows me knows that I have never met a tabby cat that I didn't love. This handsome tabby is no exception! His name is Benny and he is a friendly and laid back little guy rescued by a kind family in Balgonie who have agreed to foster him while we look for a permanent home. He is almost as cute as my beloved Beckham!

Benny is a terrific little cat - affectionate, vocal and clever. He is getting along well with everyone in his foster family including other animals.

He is being neutered this week and will be listed for adoption asap.

Kitten Foster Home Needed

PFA foster homes are currently maxed out and filled to capacity with kittens and rescued cats. We are seeking some additional foster homes to care for young kittens that are currently living on the street.

PFA volunteers handle vaccinations, de-worming, etc. and all adoption activity. We can also provide supplies if needed, or issue tax receipts if you purchase your own. We just need a few more people with a spare room in their home, and some time and love for young kittens in need.

If you are interested in fostering kittens, please contact us at saskpeopleforanimals@gmail.com

Tupperware Fundraiser for PFA

PFA is maxed out financially due to our busy spring season of rescued and Trap-Neuter-Release projects. But, there is still lots of cats out there that need help so as always, we take advantage of every opportunity we can to raise funds.

We are currently partnering with a very generous local Tupperware consultant who is donating 40% of the sales proceeds to PFA. She has also offered to further donate 10% of the proceeds from any home parties that are booked through the PFA fundraiser.

If you are interested in getting a catalogue for yourself or to circulate at your workplace or amongst friends and family, please contact us at saskpeople4animals.@gmail.com.

Safe Outdoor Time for Kitties

Here are a couple of lucky foster cats, Mittens and Maxx, enjoying the outdoor enclosure their kind and generous foster family made for them so that they could get a taste of the great outdoors safely.

And, they are doubly lucky as both of them were adopted into great new homes within the last week!

With a lengthy wait list for foster care, it will be no time at all before another fortunate little foster cat gets to enjoy the cat run.

A Helping Paw....

This is one of my own 6 cats, Sally a siamese chocolate point. She is 5 years old and had a litter of kittens herself many years ago. I'm so proud of this kitty. Sally loves it when we take in foster kittens. She steps up as a momma cat and helps out by cleaning the foster kittens, purring to them and even lets them suckle on her!

This black kitten is Baby, a little boy found in a hole covered in mud a few weeks ago. He is only 5 weeks old and really missed his own mom. Sally cuddles with him and lets him suckle on her fur. Such a good Kitty!

An Update on the Sedley Seven

As a street rescue group largely dedicated to working with Regina's large stray and feral cat population, we end up taking in a lot of kittens born to feral mothers to be fostered and adopted to loving homes. We have to remove the babies from the mamas when they are old enough to be weaned in order to give them a chance for loving homes and a life off of the streets.

So, it is kind of special for us to have tame mamas with their litters in foster care, and it is so beneficial for babies to be with their moms and litter mates until they are at least 8 weeks old.

A few weeks ago I wrote about the rescue of a mama with 7 kittens rescued from the Sedley seed plant.

These adorable kittens are now 4 weeks old and all are thriving. There are two tiny tortis Precious (peach strip between eyes) and Clover. The grey and white kitten is a girl named Sweet Pea. The black and white is also a girl, named T.C (for Too Cute). The grey kitten is a boy named Bear. The brown and black tabbies are boys named them Simba and Aslan.

Mama Jasmine is a tiny young cat, barely more than a kitten herself and she is very busy taking care of 7 babies but not too busy to accept snuggles. They are a very sweet and fun little cat family that will be listed for adoption soon.

The Kittens Keep Coming...

Everywhere we go these days, we find little kittens out on their own - too young to be away from their mamas and litter-mates. But, there they are out on the streets all by themselves.

This week, our rescues include a super adorable little female named Sammi (black and white) and a very playful and outgoing boy (tabby with white) named OJ who was rescued late at night outside of a Mosaic pavilion at risk of being hit by a car. He is having a blast playing with the the other kittens in his foster home.

Both these babies will be listed for adoption right away.

Hug Your Cat Day

According to my Regina Humane Society calendar, today is Hug Your Cat Day! What a great idea - what could be better than a little snuggle with a warm fuzzy furball?

Of course, not all cats actually like hugs. However, we have some great little cats in foster care that like to give and receive hugs and kisses, like sweet Simon (tabby) and Super Kitty (black). They are waiting for someone to adopt them so they can bestow all that love onto permanent owner.

Cheers to huggy cats!

We Finally Found Them - Nabbing Some Elusive Kittens

These adorable and feisty kittens were born to a beautiful feral mama named Scarlett who is a resident at one of our feeding stations.

The feral team was planning to scoop these kittens a few weeks ago as soon as they could be safely weaned (and follow up with a spay for Scarlett) but Scarlett is a clever and protective mama and she proved to be very adept at keeping her babies hidden from interfering humans!

After three weeks of searching our feral team volunteers located them unexpectedly on Sunday and quickly nabbed them and delivered them to a foster home where they will be socialized with people and other cats, and listed for adoption.
