Fast Feline Friends

It isn't always easy to introduce a new pet into your home if you already have animals. There is almost always some tension, hissing, and growling until they get used to each other.

But like people, some cats just have a natural charm and charisma that enables them to make friends instantly and get along with everyone. Fuzzy is one of those cats.

Rescued from an abusive situation in early 2010, Fuzzy was thin and a bit shy, but he quickly responded to some TLC and showed his true, very loving colours.

When Fuzzy went to his foster home, he was an instant hit with the people and the other cats! It was an easy decision for his foster family to adopt him. Here is he hanging with his feline friends.

A very nice happy ending for a very nice little cat!

Thomas is Totally Adorable!

This little cutie-cat is Thomas, a former PFA rescue who was adopted several years ago by a loving owner. Unfortunately, she had to move out of the province and could not take Thomas with her.

He is currently back in foster care and doing great. He is a sweet and affectionate little cat who would make a great companion for any feline fan. Thomas is good with other cats but is also independent and would be fine as an only cat. And there is something about his little face that just makes you want to love him!

He will be listed for adoption shortly.

Tossed Out Like Yesterday's News

Meet Ruby, a handsome 3-year old ragdoll who was recently rescued by a PFA volunteer after being thrown out by his owners, who live across the street.

Ruby was confused and scared and he would howl at the door of his former home to get back in, to no avail. Kind neighbours put out food and water for Ruby but already had multiple cats in their home and no room for another.

After watching him crying to get inside for almost 2 weeks, they contacted our volunteer, who took him in to foster. Ruby has now been surrendered to PFA by his owners and will be listed for adoption.

Like most ragdolls, he is very calm and laid-back. He loves to be brushed, and will sit in your lap for as long as you will let him. He would make a great pet for anyone looking for an affectionate feline friend who is quiet and cuddly.

Funny and Fabulous Finn!

This adorable little guy is Finn, a 4 month old kitten who surprised a feral feeder at a station last week by jumping out of a wood pile to get some much needed food.

It was windy and rainy and Finn is too young to fend for himself in an area teeming with stray toms, so our volunteer decided to take him with her!

Needless to say, Finn didn't object. He is now in a multi-pet foster home having fun with his kitten and dog buddies. He has not been claimed by an owner, so we will be listing him for adoption soon.

Hawk and Crush, One Year Later!

These two adorable little cats are Hawk (tabby) and Crush (orange), siblings from a litter born to a beautiful colony cat, Flame, in the spring of 2010. They were fortunate to be adopted to a loving home together, where they are clearly thriving and happy.

These little guys have a new buddy, too. Their family has rescued a young stray, Oscar (DMH tabby), who was in desperate need of help. As a young un-neutered male, he was regularly getting into fights with other toms and was scrawny and full of scabs and scars.

Despite his rough appearance. Oscar is just a young cat at only one year of age. Thanks to his foster family, he now has a new lease on life and a chance at a home and happiness. He has been fixed and treated for parasites and will be vaccinated and listed for adoption shortly.

These are some very lucky little cats, and PFA is grateful to have so many wonderful and caring adoptive and foster homes!

Update - 2011 Sedley Kittens

Here are more adorable pics of Cuthbert (orange), Gilbert (black/white), Marilla (grey) and Emily Starr (black) along with their pretty young mama Lucy.

The kittens are growing fast and can go to new homes in just a couple of weeks. They continue to be a sweet and wonderful group of kittens who are well socialized, playful and loving.

Emily Starr isn't afraid of anything. She is so adorable its hard not to let her have her way with whatever she wants! Gilbert, the black and white, is a loving little lap cat. He's happy to get into mischief with Emily Starr, but also likes to hang out and have his head stroked. Cuthbert, the orange guy, and Marilla, the little grey, are best friends and would love to be adopted together. Cuthbert isn't opposed to being cuddled like a baby, while Marilla just sweetly gets into trouble. All the kittens are interested in toys and love to climb their scratching post and will make lovely additions to anyone's family.
